J. Robert Nelson, PE

Robert Nelson, PE, is the Senior Vice President of PFS Corporation, Western Region. He has over 30 years of experience in building construction and code enforcement including:
- Five years with the Los Angeles County Building Department as an Engineer
- Ten years with the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO)* as Senior Staff Engineer
- Certification and preparation of both structural and fire technical reports, code provisions and standards
- Extensive experience in all types of building construction and components specializing in structural wood framing and fire protection engineering

Michael J. Slifka, PE
Expert in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Investigation, Building Construction, Authority in Building and Fire Codes, Experienced Expert Witness.Michael J. Slifka, PE, is President of PFS Corporation. He has testified in cases throughout the U.S. and its territories (federal and state). Mr. Slifka has over 30 years of experience in building construction and code enforcement including:
- Five years with the Veterans Administration as Chief of Fire Protection, Safety, and Occupational Health Engineering
- Five years with the National Conference of States on Building Codes and Standards as Director of Engineering
- Three years with the Ohio Inspection Bureau as Special Hazards Engineer
- Three years with the (then) National Bureau of Standards as Assistant Branch Chief in the Center for Fire Research
- Certified Board Diplomate Member of the American Board of Forensic Engineers and the American College of Forensic Examiners
- Over ten years experience as a key national instructor in the Life Safety College of the National Fire Protection Association
- Over thirty years of fire investigation, cause and origin analysis, code review, and related forensic investigations
